Chocolate doesn't judge….chocolate understands!!

It is September in the world, and in Texas, as with most of the country it is back to school.  Which means in Brandi-land,  let the homework battles begin.  Trust me when I type,  there will be more on that topic.  But with Lou Lou, our youngest (I've changed her name to protect her not so homework orientated innocence) she  does what she can to get out of homework.  I believe, in the time waisted to not do her homework, she could have just done the homework!!  One day I know she will use that power for good……anyway where was I ???

And so it was my youngest daughter came down the stairs tonight, bubbly and with an opinion to share.   "Ya know, people who are impatient and angry….. usually don't like chocolate!!"

Cute huh??  Uhmmm….I was still trying to chill after a time of not so mature parenting.  "What do you mean the answers are not in the book???"  Huffy I went on to say, " I did my homework in 7th grade (maybe) you can too!!"

But back to that sweet topic of chocolate…..

She did have me thinking….she just might have a point and if that is true…have I had chocolate today??  Would it be wiser for me to have a chocolate fix before a homework session??  I could really get into that!!  I think if I started out with Hershey's Hugs and Kisses…homework peace might be attainable.  She could have the Hugs and Kisses after her homework.

If Lou Lou is right…..She might have the key to world peace!!  Could it be that if the U.S. Senators and Congressmen would have a dose of chocolate before a committee meeting, a briefing, or a vote, work might actually get done for the good of the people and not their polling data???

Wait no….there would be arguments on Capital Hill over where did the chocolate come from, what state, what district…red or blue…..Yikes!!

But for those of us who do enjoy chocolate we know….. That Chocolate Doesn't Judge…..Chocolate Understands!!

Senator Bob Dole, Brian Kilmeade, The King and I.

Have you ever met someone important or someone famous, whether a sports hero, movie star, politician, or rock star??  If you could meet that person what would your reaction be???
I have had an encounter or two with a "Famous" person and I can tell you my reaction was usually not dignified.  Oh sure, I like to think I could be dignified as I was when meeting Jerry Jones (a story for another day) or my encounter with the british paparazzi.  But life in Brandi-land dignity is a lost art.

The time my mother (just FYI my mother is with me in almost all of my stories) and I had the opportunity to meet then Senator Bob Dole.  The 1996 presidential elections were over, and we all know how that story ended…..anyway….Mummy and I did help with that campaign and Senator Dole was taking his "thank you anyway" tour.  After lunch there was an opportunity to meet the Senator.

So Mummy and I edged up in line…….the plan was who ever edged up to the Senator first took the pictures and then we would switch places.  Under the watchful gaze of secret service we edged.   Having gotten to the Senator first, I stood beside him like I knew what I was doing (yeah right) .  Where was the dignity??? Not with me?  Where was Mummy? straight ahead…… after the pleasantries of "yup I voted for you"……I then….oh this is just awful……I….I squeezed Senator Dole's arm…..ya know the left one that has not worked since World War II….and said, "There's my mom" pointing at her as if he would recognize her.
Let's just say those pictures did not come out so well,  and have mysteriously gone missing.  Senator Dole looked……surprised and maybe slightly alarmed, while I looked like I truly lived in Kansas…….
Brian Kilmeade one of the anchors from the FOX news network show Fox and Friends.  Mr. Kilmeade is mostly a sports guy and funny.  For a time he was teased for having a "murse" (spell correct keeps wanting to fix the spelling of "murse" very frustrating…..how many times do I need to spell this word and not have it corrected….)  Anyway a man purse.
While in New York City one bright and early morning Mummy and I waited outside to meet those FOX and Friends co-anchors.  Brian Kilmeade came outside and I showing how mature I was, by doing the flappy hands thing as though fanning him while bouncing on my toes and asking Mr. Kilmeade "where was his man bag??" Really???? Blushing as I write…

For those of you who don't know me…..I watch the British Royal family….it's the history folks…….really…. All the rules on how and what not to doing with royalty….. I know all the etiquette!
I am confident…..not really….hopeful,  that I could meet Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I could do so without doing the flappy hands.

So it is when I meet with my Savior, the King of Kings in prayer….I kinda do the spiritual flappy hands.  I can get excited.  Me!!! before the King of Kings and He knows my name, who I am, and how ridiculous I can be……. My words get rushed and that's ok because it is just The King and I!!!!!
When praying in a large group setting and I try to sound grand, mature and dignified it fails.  While trying to sound mature and at the same time knowing He knows this is etiquette for men and not for Him……. (two very different thought processes for this blonde girl)  I need to stop and remember I pray to no one but the King…….   It is just the King and I!!!

Let's see if this works…...

Maybe it's a blonde thing…

I hate computers, by hate I mean loath!  I just don't get computers. What makes them think, work, explain….. whatever it is that they are supposed to do.   Maybe there are ways computers have been helpful.

  Nothing comes to mind =).

I will admit I do enjoy online window shopping and online hoarding (Pinterest).

So why am I blogging now you may ask?

Going back to my childhood my parents taught me to laugh.  My mother particularly taught my brother and I that we could not laugh at others until we could laugh at ourselves.  That was before America's Famous Home Videos.

Over the last several weeks I have been trying to figure out how to get this blog up and running.  Many many, many hours later and two out of three children drafted to help explain terminology……and other stuff.
I suppose the site web thing kind of looks ridiculous, but please stay with me.

Maybe, one day I can laugh at my frustration and angry words spoken to this computer, and I will share with you. But until then laugh with me through different situations in Brandi-land.

Today is the Day……I think.

I hate computers….and by hate I mean loath!  Yes, I enjoy online window shopping and Pinerest, which is really on line hoarding….

I have thought about blogging for years, and have finally determined to do so,  but it really does set my christian walk backwards.  Way way backwards.

So this is a test
